The weather is starting to turn cold, and people aren’t thinking about coming to the beach.

Christmas is coming, and a lot of folks are putting aside money to buy gifts for their loved ones rather than go on vacation.

And there’s still this pesky recession.

Add all that together, and you have some wonderful room deals in Atlantic City.

You can get a casino-hotel room mid-week for as little as $50, maybe less. That’s if you don’t gamble at all. Billboards leading into town advertise all the specials. Don’t forget non-casino hotels such as the Chelsea and the Sheraton. There are some nice rooms to be had there, too. The Chelsea was recently advertising $39 weeknight rates.

Want to stay on a Friday or Saturday night? No big bite out of your budget. A lot of casinos are posting room rates of about $125 for Saturdays.

Log on to your favorite casino’s Web site, or use the American Casino Guide’s search engine to find a reasonably priced getaway.

Of course, if you gamble even a little bit, your mailbox is probably filled with offers for real cheap, if not downright free, rooms.
