Atlantic City, NJ – (September 29, 2011) – The Showboat casino’s slot machines aren’t the only thing that “Shimmer,” Backstage will host a free concert from popular rock band Fuel.  Known for producing a slew of hit songs, the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania band has reunited with original singer Brett Scallions and will cause the Showboat’s party pit to “Hemorrhage” October on 15.

Since its inception, Backstage has been primarily known for hosting a wide range of the region’s hottest cover bands, but 2011 caused Atlantic City’s premier party pit to change its tune.  On May 20th former Live front-man Ed Kowalczyk treated fans to a no-charge performance, which was followed by an additional free concert by the Gin Blossoms, also held at Backstage on July 23rd.

“From Ed Kowalczyk to Gin Blossoms and now Fuel, Backstage offers fans entertainment options that no other party pit in Atlantic City can match,” said Jason Spencer, Regional Director of Entertainment for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City.  “If you haven’t experienced a concert at Backstage then Saturday October 15th should definitely be highlighted on your calendar.”

Fuel is set to take the stage at 10pm, performing some of the alternative rock classics that caused the band to reach its wide-spread popularity.  Since there isn’t a cover-charge, Fuelies, as they are known, are urged to come early, as reservations will not be accepted.

The band, Fuel, made quite a name for itself through riveting stage-performances since they formed in early 1994.  Fuel has released four studio albums and has climbed the charts with several hits such as “Falls On Me,” “Wasted Time,” “Gone,” “Hemmorage (In My Hands),” “Bad Day,” and of course “Shimmer.”
