Italian Restaurant, Lugo Caffé, to Open at Revel Casino Resort in Atlantic City
REVEL BEACH, Atlantic City, NJ (February 1, 2012) –Andiamo! Revel is set to embrace la dolce vita this spring with the opening of Lugo Caffé, an energetic brasserie offering a fresh take on modern Italian classics. The second iteration of the popular New York City flagship, Lugo Caffé promises a bustling atmosphere reminiscent of Italy’s famous grand caffés, which were immortalized in Federico Fellini’s films, with Revel’s stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean as a backdrop.
Chef Stefano Chiaruga will serve up homemade pastas, Neapolitan-style brick oven pizza, mozzarella made fresh on-site, and meatballs destined to be the best on the boardwalk. Complementing the fare is an extensive wine list of more than 80 varieties including the restaurant’s own line of Prosecco, Pinot Grigio and Chianti wines in addition to unfiltered Tuscan olive oil exclusive to service at Lugo Caffé.
Joining Revel’s roster of more than a dozen notable restaurants, Lugo Caffé appeals to those visiting the 6.3-million-square-foot resort any time of the day. From a relaxed lunch before heading out to the resort’s indoor or outdoor pools, to savoring pasta del giorno or veal piccata with friends for dinner, or a late-night glass of vino with cichetti (Italian tapas), Lugo Caffé is an authentic Italian dining experience. The bustling ambiance paired with impeccable service has established Lugo Caffé in New York City as a favorite destination for modern Italian dining and that same charming feel will descend upon Revel this spring.
Bringing together partners with a strong entrepreneurial spirit and tremendous talent to create culinary and lifestyle experiences, Revel offers a true resort option to the Northeast. In addition to Lugo Caffé, Revel will encompass two nightclubs, a private beach club, more than 1,800 guest rooms, retail shops, a 31,000-square-foot spa, two theatres with capacity for 5,500 and 700 guests respectively and a 150,000-square-foot casino. Entertainment and lifestyle offerings are curated by top performers in daylife, nightlife, theatrical, spa and experiential programming.
“Lugo is pulsing and alive; you’re not coming here to sit quiet in a corner,” said LDV Hospitality Principal John Meadow and owner of Lugo Caffé. “We have created an exciting communal feeling at Lugo New York City and we can’t wait to see it translated at Revel.”
