Hawaii Comes Back to Atlantic City
If you’ve ever been to Hawaii, a sultry summer evening puts you in the mood for a luau on the beach. No need for expensive airfare and hotels, just head to Harrah’s in Atlantic City.
Every Monday night from July 12 through September 6, Harrah’s will hold a luau in its new pool. The experience, which costs $50, consists of a buffet and a Hawaiian themed show.
On the menu are things like Hawaiian pig roast, Huli Huli chicken, tropical salads and pineapple macadamia cheesecake. Stuff your face, enjoy the music and pretend you’re on a tropical island. The atmosphere of the pool at Harrah’s is certainly conducive to that.
Don’t forget your bathing suit. During most of these events, the pool remains open, and they have pretty decent locker rooms to shower and change in.
Speaking of changing clothes I have to stand corrected about something in my last post. The changing rooms at the South Carolina beach in Atlantic City are no more.
Yesterday, I took my first trip of the season to the beach, and saw they were gone. The lifeguards said they blew away in one of the many storms that pounded the shore over the winter. They weren’t sure whether the structures would be rebuilt.
So if you hit the Atlantic City beach – unless you have a hotel room – you’re stuck changing in the casino restrooms or wearing your bathing suit under your clothes.
