Atlantic City, NJ (July 14, 2011) – Come feel the 90’s nostalgia at Showboat Atlantic City when the popular rock band Gin Blossoms take the spotlight for a free performance at Backstage on Saturday July 23.

The Gin Blossoms will take the stage at 9p.m., performing some of their pop rock radio classics that infected the airwaves in the 90s. Gin Blossoms will also perform catchy new songs off their 2006 and 2010 studio albums, “Major Lodge Victory,” and “No Chocolate Cake.” Since there isn’t a cover-charge, fans looking to view the concert from the comfort of Backstage’s plush couches are urged to come early, as reservations will not be accepted.

Backstage is most famously known as the casino’s high-energy gaming and entertainment venue, consistently hosting some of the hottest cover bands and DJ’s in the region. However, this year, Backstage has been challenging other venues and electrifying audiences by providing music-lovers with free concerts preformed by chart topping artists. Ed Kowalczyk, former lead-singer and song-writer for acclaimed hard-rock band Live gave a free performance at Backstage at Showboat on May 20th drawing hundreds of fans.

“Backstage has set a precedent to provide Atlantic City with an elite level of free entertainment that has never been seen before,” said Jason Spencer, Regional Director of Entertainment for Caesars Entertainment Atlantic City. “This latest performance by the Gin Blossoms should solidify Backstage as the premier party-pit for quality, no-charge performances.”

Arizona based band, Gin Blossoms formed in 1987, right at the beginning of the 90s rock revolution. Fueled by mega-hits including “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You” and “Till I Hear It From You,” the Gin Blossoms completed the classic crossover from college-circuit heroes to multi-platinum album sellers. Many of their hits landed at the top of the Billboard charts, and their music became a staple in the 90s rock genre.
