A New Place to Unwind in Atlantic City

Posted by: Cory Nelson  :  Category: Resorts Atlantic City

Many people come to Atlantic City as a break from the stress of their daily lives. Well, Resorts just made it easier to relax and get pampered.

A new Chinese massage spot opened in Resorts. It’s in the lobby near the boardwalk end, across from the Destination Club merch shop. It’s a lot nicer than the similar facilities you’ll find on the boardwalk or in malls, with a comfortable lobby and nice panels separating the treatment areas. For those of you smirking inwardly, this is totally legitimate massage.

The good thing is, the going rates are the same as most joints in the mall or on the boardwalk. It costs about a dollar a minute to have someone work the stress out of those tired muscles. And even better news, you can use your comp dollars to pay for it.

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – June 18, 2009 - Resorts Casino Hotel is adding a new game to its already action-packed casino. Get ready for Flop Poker, the latest in an exciting line of live Poker offerings at Resorts, set to launch Friday, June 26.

Easy to learn and fun to play, Flop Poker is a five-card game that pits players against a pay table. Players get paid for having a pair of jacks or better. Adding to the excitement is a bonus feature allowing for a second way to win: the highest-ranking poker hand on the table wins the entire table’s pot.

The game, which uses six cards and is played with a standard 52-card deck, provides nonstop action that card-lovers of all kinds will love. Plus, it’s fun for Poker enthusiasts and those new to the game. Like any Poker game, Flop Poker begins with an ante wager. Then players make a pot wager (the table minimum), after which they receive three cards. At this point the player can look at his or her card and decide whether or not to continue. Those who continue, place a flop wager (equal to the ante), those who don’t wish to continue must surrender their ante. However they will be able to keep their cards and play for the pot.

After all flop wagers are placed—and any forfeited ante wagers are collected—the dealer will expose the three community flop cards. Now players make their best five-card poker hand using their three cards and any two of the community FLOP cards. Players must have a pair of jacks or better to win the ante and flop wagers. The pot will be awarded to the highest-ranking poker hand on the table. Ante always pays 1 to 1.

Flop pays as follows:

Hand Payout Odds

Royal flush                    1000 to 1

Straight flush                 500 to 1

Four-of-a-kind               100 to 1

Full house                     30 to 1

Flush                            20 to 1

Straight                         10 to 1

Three-of-a-kind             4 to 1

Two pair                       2 to 1

Pair, jacks or better       1 to 1

Resorts Atlantic City Launches myresortscasino.com

Posted by: Matt Bourie  :  Category: Atlantic City Casinos, Resorts Atlantic City

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – May 29, 2009 – Months after making its foray into Facebook, the wildly popular social networking site, Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City announced that it’s launching its own social online community, a site titled myresortscasino.com. Resorts is first among its competitors to create a customized site that takes interactivity and social networking to the next level.

“As discussed at the Gaming Expo held earlier this month in Atlantic City, Social Networking is the future of communication. Recognizing this evolution, we are taking an industry lead in a new communication vehicle,” said Kathleen McSweeney, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Resorts. “Staying ahead of business trends–especially cutting-edge ones–is the approach we need to take in today’s market. Offering more ways for our guests to take an active role in the goings-on at Resorts engages them and lets them know we value their feedback and opinion. Many others are on Facebook and Twitter, but we saw an opportunity to take things to the next level.”

Myresortscasino.com seamlessly integrates with the aforementioned social sites. But these sites will all link to myresortscasino.com, and therein lies the difference. The site is customized and completely interactive. Rather than static web pages, myresortscasino.com allows existing customers to join discussion groups, comment on blogs, upload video and participate in other enhanced activities. For example, if a customer is a fan of Resorts’ restaurants, he or she can create or join a group to discuss the dining scene at Resorts with other foodies. Those who frequent Boogie Nights can upload photos of themselves with friends and the Boogie Nights characters, as well as comments chronicling their experiences at the Atlantic City hotspot.

New and potential customers can learn about Resorts from people who experience first-hand all that the casino has to offer. They can watch uploaded video and read blogs and discussions as a way to virtually visit the casino before physically arriving.

“Myresortscasino.com is a site for sharing your experiences at Resorts, and for learning about other people’s experiences,” said McSweeney. “And there’s no stronger way of advertising than true testimonial, word-of-mouth messaging. And that’s exactly what this site provides.”

In addition to commenting, discussing and sharing photos and videos, visitors to myresortscasino.com will be the first to find out about special offers and coupons and the latest entertainment updates. As a bonus, there is a contest to kick off the launch of the site. The member who invites the most friends by June 12, 2009 will win a complimentary dinner for two at Resorts’ new Beachball Seafood House and free admission for two to its Boogie Nights 70s and 80s Dance Club.

To join this social networking site, participants should visit www.myresortscasino.com and complete the brief entry fields. Participants are also encouraged to follow Resorts on twitter at www.twitter.com/resortscasino and find Resorts on Facebook.
