ATLANTIC CITY, NJ (August 2, 2011) – The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has announced details of its ninth annual Borgata Poker Open tournament series, beginning on Wednesday, September 7, and concluding with the televised World Poker Tour® (WPT) Borgata Poker Open Championship, running September 18-23.

The $3,500 buy-in Championship event boasts a guaranteed $3 million prize pool.

Last year’s record-breaking Borgata Poker Open series drew 1,042 poker players to the Championship event – the largest field in the history of the World Poker Tour, as Dwyte Pilgrim joined an illustrious list of past champions, including Olivier Busquet (2009), Vivek Rajkumar (2008), Roy Winston (2007), Mark Newhouse (2006), Al Ardebili (2005), Daniel Negreanu (2004) and Noli Francisco (2003).

The 17-day series, held in the Event Center, will feature a wide array of tournaments, including No Limit Hold’em, Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em, No Limit Hold’em 6-handed, Limit, Bounty and Heads Up events. The featured WPT Borgata Poker Open Championship event is part of the historic WPT Season X and will be filmed from Day 1 through the final table and televised on Fox Sports Net.
