Atlantic City Notes for the New Year
If you’re looking to take the ACES train from New York to Atlantic City, or the other way around, you’re out of luck. The local paper reported today that the rail line is suspending service until May 13. They said there weren’t enough off-season riders to make it economically prudent to run the train.
The Borgata released some numbers about the resources their guests went through while ringing in 2011. Here goes:
– More than 25,000 cars were parked at the casino
– Hotel guests used more than 79,000 bath towels. (That sounds like a lot of showers.)
– Restaurants served more than 60,000 meals and diners ate up 1,350 pounds of shrimp, 4,300 pounds of lobster, 21,250 clams, 600 pounds of lamb racks, and 1,400 pounds of prime beef.
– Servers poured 3,230 glasses of champagne
Sounds like the Borg had a happy new year indeed.
