(Atlantic City, NJ – January 12, 2012) – Atlantic City Weekly and ACWeekly.com present the 4th annual 2012 Atlantic City Weekly Nightlife Awards, celebrating the best in nightlife that the Atlantic City region has to offer, at the new Night Fever Dance Club at Resorts Casino Hotel on Thursday night, January 26. Doors open to the public at 7pm.

The readers of Atlantic City Weekly and ACWeekly.com have voted in more than two dozen categories for the Atlantic City region’s “Best” in area nightlife, with venues and entertainers from Atlantic County and upper Cape May County eligible to be honored.

Voting began via the ACWeekly.com Web site (acweekly.com/nightlife) in late summer and concluded on Dec. 31, 2011 with thousands of entries. Some of the categories include “Best Dance Club,” “Best Happy Hour,” “Best New Place to Party,” “Best Lounge Act,” “Best Nightlife Promoter,” “Best Club to Find Celebrities,” and “Best Local Hangout,” and a few brand-new categories such as “Worst Place to Bring Your Mom,” “Best LGBT Party Place,” “Best Place to Fist Pump,” and “Best Place to Pick Up a One-Night Stand” have been added this year. Needless to say the 2012 awards show bash is guaranteed to be a night full of fun and surprises.

“We are very excited about this year’s Nightlife Awards,” says Atlantic City Weekly editor Jeff Schwachter. “This project was created to celebrate and bring together those who work so hard in the Atlantic City region’s rich and diverse nightlife industry; the men and women who help make Atlantic City the unique, high-energy entertainment destination that it is. That the project has grown and evolved over the years speaks to how much of a positive thing the Nightlife Awards have become for the Atlantic City region and its image. “The awards bash has always taken place at the end of January, giving party people and nightlife-industry folks a reason to come out and party in the middle of winter,” adds Schwachter. “Because of the new categories, the entertainment we have scheduled for the evening, and the tremendously talented Resorts team we work with for this event, I’m sure this year’s Nightlife Awards will be the best Nightlife Awards party yet.”

The 2012 Atlantic City Weekly Nightlife Awards will be held at Resorts for the fourth consecutive year.  Mark Dahl, producer of the Miss’d America Pageant, is producing this year’s event, which will feature co-hosts Scotty & JoJo from 103.7 WMGM Rocks, several guest entertainers giving a live performance chronicling the history of A.C. nightlife, from the Boardwalk Empire period to the age of Lady Gaga, as well as many guest presenters.
